General Information
The MLS of Roanoke Valley (MLS) serves approximately 315 firms and 1860 brokers and agents. The online MLS system, known as flexMLS, is supported by FBS. The MLS lockbox system is provided by Supra, a division of Honeywell.
The MLS Service Area is defined as the Virginia municipalities listed below:
Membership Applications
An individual’s membership with Roanoke’s MLS has as prerequisites that the individual and firm must be members of a REALTOR® Association, have active Virginia real estate licenses and the firm’s Broker must also be a member (or be joining as a member) of the MLS.
Letter in Good Standing
MLS applicants who are not members of RVAR must provide the MLS with a Letter in Good Standing from their primary Association of REALTORS® confirming their current year membership dues have been paid.
MLS Password Confidentiality Agreement
All MLS users must agree to keep their MLS passwords confidential. MLS applicants must complete and submit the MLS Password Confidentiality Agreement.

The fee for the first quarter of MLS service must be paid to the MLS at the time of application. If you join during a quarter, your fees are prorated based on your start date. Bills for the next quarter are issued on the first day of the preceding month. For example, the bill for January through March is issued on December 1.
The MLS accepts checks and credit card payments (VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.)
Once the MLS has received the completed application, letter in good standing, MLS password confidentiality agreement and first quarter’s payment, the processing time to set up a new MLS account is approximately 2 business days.
